You won't be a student forever, so we give you opportunities to develop your professional skills before you officially join the workforce. Through professional enhancement programs, you can identify your career goals, work on professional development plans, extend your networks, meet industry leaders and set yourself up for the career of your dreams.

As a Bachelor of Commerce student, you can consult for companies, go overseas and compete with some of the world's best business schools, hear from captains of industry and get one-on-one mentoring from someone already working in your desired profession.

Dhanu NarenthiranI intend to pursue a career in international finance, and the Faculty of Business and Economics has provided many opportunities to explore my options. I got a feel for working in the industry while in Hong Kong for the Global Consulting Project, and I've been matched with a mentor who is currently working in the foreign exchange/derivatives area. It is so helpful to have great support throughout the Commerce degree, and I've been lucky to get a clear perspective of my career early on.

Enhance your professional skills while you're studying

Linda KowalskiI was part of the team that represented the University of Melbourne at case study competitions in Auckland, New Zealand and Copenhagen, Denmark. The chance to compete amongst the very best universities in the world and have the support of the university was no doubt the best experience of my life. I felt honoured to represent the university and be given the opportunity to develop my analytical and managerial skills in a practical way.
